Onsite Role

Responsibilities:

  • Assist applications and sales teams in the mechanical design of automated workcells
  • Review workcell concept designs and assess feasibility
  • Provide guidance on layout of workcell to ensure robot arm access and design best practices 
  • Generate complete workcell design in Solidworks to produce a high-quality render and fabrication-ready drawings 
  • Participate in the design and development of new hardware products 
  • Generate assembly drawings and manufacturing documentation for the fabrication and construction of products 
  • Utilize engineering and manufacturing practices to design products 
  • Generate bill of materials 
  • Assist in costing estimates 
  • Interface with vendors to quote and order machined components 
  • Establishes and maintains relationship with third party instrument manufacturers, hardware providers, machining services, suppliers, and enclosure vendors, assessing vendor quality and lining up alternative vendors when necessary
  • Assist with assembly and testing of custom hardware and hands-on assembly of workcells 
  • This role may have occasional travel 
  • Performs all other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in Bio-Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or comparable field 
  • At least 1-3 years of experience with hand-tools, machining, or construction 
  • Hands on hardware design experience; including design requirements, detailed design & review, component selection & evaluation, procurement, design validation, and release 

Training, Skills, Knowledge:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to write professional technical reports and procedures 
  • Must be task focused and have a results-oriented attitude and approach to the job responsibilities 

Compensation and Benefits

Total Compensation target is $80,000 - $105,000 annually; actual pay will vary based on experience.  Benefits include 401K with company match, Flexible Vacation Policy, Health Benefits, Investment in Professional and Personal Development, and much more.
