Warehouse and Inventory Specialist
The Warehouse and Inventory Specialist is responsible for the efficient management and maintenance of our company's facilities. This role ensures that the physical company headquarters is well-maintained, runs efficiently, and complies with all relevant regulations and standards. This individual oversees maintenance activities and implements strategies to optimize space and resources. This role requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects effectively, and a solid understanding of building systems. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of our physical infrastructure, contributing to the overall success of our organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintenance Oversight: Supervises and coordinates all aspects of facilities maintenance, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Building Operations: Manages day-to-day operations of company buildings, ensuring they are clean, safe, and functional at all times.
- Vendor Management: Coordinates with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance tasks and repairs.
- Budget Management: Assists in developing and managing the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective maintenance solutions without compromising quality.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensures that facilities comply with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Conducts regular inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
- Emergency Response: Develops and implements emergency response plans for facilities, including procedures for evacuation, fire safety, and other emergencies.
- Space Planning: Collaborates with management to optimize the use of space within facilities, ensuring efficient layouts and allocations.
- Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Management: Oversee the shipment, receipt, and inventory acc of all products, materials, and supplies.
- Safety: Lead safety activities including routine safety assessments, safety committee, monitoring, reporting and compliance, and drive continuous improvement to strengthen compliance, reduce risk and elevate workplace safety culture.
- Documentation: Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Generates reports as needed for management review.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifies opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the facilities management function.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
While performing the duties of this job the employee will spend significant amounts of time on foot, walking around the facility to inspect buildings, equipment, and grounds. The individual will regularly be required to lift, carry, push or pull equipment or materials during maintenance or repair activities. The individual will periodically be required to work at heights to inspect roofts, change light fixtures, or perform repairs on elevated equipment, and must be comfortable working on ladders, scaffolding, or lifts as needed. Maintenance activities will periodically require bending, stooping, or kneeling. Certain tasks will require repetitive motions, such as use of hand tools, operating machinery, or performing assembly or disassembly of parts.
The employee will regularly move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds with lifting assistance. The individual will periodically remain in an office at a computer work station and access information from a computer. The individual will regularly listen and speak in person, on a telephone or via video meeting.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education / Work Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a shipping/receiving/inventory role.
- 2+ years of experience supporting safety programs in warehouse, logistics, and facilitites environments, including familiarity with OSHA requirements and incident prevention practices.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in budget management and cost control.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization as well as outside third parties.
- Project management expertise, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $70,000-80,000.00 for San Diego,CA. Benefits include 401K with company match, Flexible Vacation Policy, Health Benefits, Investment in Professional and Personal Development, and much more.
