This role is remote and candidates should live in the UK.
Position Summary:
As a Product Owner, you work with software development teams supporting the delivery of integration-ready laboratory device drivers to our customers. You will collaborate with the Application Scientist, Integrations, Instrument manufacturers, and users to ensure all requirements are well understood and delivered in a timely manner. You will work closely alongside Project Managers to understand delivery timelines and stakeholder expectations while managing a steady inflow of new requests.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders including Application Scientists, Automation Engineers, and Customers to understand the specific project requirements for the devices being integrated.
- Write clear, concise, and technically accurate user stories that reflect precisely how devices are intended to behave in conjunction with Green Button Go Scheduler.
- Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on that are consistently prioritized according to business value or ROI.
- Work closely with software engineers on the development team by mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of deliverables, providing clear direction on all expectations, and ensuring all necessary testing is performed.
- Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories.
- Lead the planning of product release plans and set expectations for delivery of new drivers.
- Be the center point of communication between engineers and non-technical stakeholders, translating technical details across project deliverables.
- Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BS/MA in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field.
- 3+ years of proven experience with automated laboratory devices.
- Deep working knowledge of the biotech and automation markets.
- Experience with API-first application, Jira and/or Git.
- Familiarity with difference common communication protocols and date exchange standards including RS232, REST APIs, USB, Ethernet, et.
- Familiarity with industry standard protocols and frameworks including OPC-UA and SILA-2.
Training, Skills, Knowledge:
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to rapidly reprioritize work based on a constantly shifting suite of priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using documentation tools and software.
- Attention to detail and ability to organize complex information logically.
- Understanding of scientific terminology and laboratory processes.
- Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, scientists, and product managers.
