What You Will Do
Biosero is seeking a strategic and results-driven Head of Operations to lead the execution of our operational strategy and ensure the successful delivery of complex robotic lab automation projects. This role is responsible for driving process excellence, establishing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and aligning cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives. As a member of the Leadership Team, the Head of Operations will shape the company’s long-term vision, meet financial targets, and foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high performance.
The Head of Operations supervises the Internal and Field Applications and Engineering teams, Solutions Architects, Logistics, IT, Procurement and Facilities.
Requirements
- Lead the development and implementation of scalable, efficient operational processes across the organization.
- Oversee end-to-end execution of lab automation projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. Drive alignment between engineering, software, service, and project management teams to ensure successful FAT/SAT and customer handover.
- Manage procurement by coordinating with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure on-time material availability for builds.
- Own workforce and resource planning for project execution by forecasting workload based on the project pipeline and securing appropriate internal and external technical and operational staffing and skills.
- Participate in customer project review meetings to provide visibility into progress, risks, and mitigation plans. Ensure customer expectations are met during installation, training, and support phases.
- Act as the operational hub between the functions Sales, Project Management, Development, and Finance to ensure clear scope and handoffs. Also support the teams in cross functional operations with this functions.
- Partner with Finance to track project-level profitability and ensure accurate revenue recognition under PoC (Percentage of Completion) accounting.
- Collaborate on strategic sourcing decisions to mitigate cost, lead-time, and quality risks.
- Report to executive leadership on project backlog, risk forecasts, cost escalations, and resource constraints.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and proper documentation practices.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks; maintain contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
- Lead a team that utilizes Biosero’s Green Button Go (GBG) software to enable work cell integrations that automate scientific protocols into methods and workflows.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Life Science or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations management, including experience overseeing multiple functional areas.
- Experience in a growth-oriented, fast-paced environment; experience in laboratory automation or scientific industries a plus.
- Experience in risk management, manufacturing, business continuity planning, safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
- Understanding of scientific terminology, laboratory processes, and scientific protocols, including the use of software within automation workflows.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, capital investments, and cost optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to define and manage KPIs and leverage data to inform decision-making.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, supply chain management tools, and relevant software applications.
The salary range for this position is $175,000 to $200,000 We offer 401K with company match, Flexible Vacation Policy, Health Benefits, investment in professional and personal development, and much more.
