Onsite Role

Responsibilities:

Assist applications and sales teams in the mechanical design of automated workcells
Review workcell concept designs and assess feasibility
Provide guidance on layout of workcell to ensure robot arm access and design best practices
Generate complete workcell design in Solidworks to produce a high-quality render and fabrication-ready drawings
Participate in the design and development of new hardware products
Generate assembly drawings and manufacturing documentation for the fabrication and construction of products
Utilize engineering and manufacturing practices to design products
Generate bill of materials
Assist in costing estimates
Interface with vendors to quote and order machined components
Establishes and maintains relationship with third party instrument manufacturers, hardware providers, machining services, suppliers, and enclosure vendors, assessing vendor quality and lining up alternative vendors when necessary
Assist with assembly and testing of custom hardware and hands-on assembly of workcells
This role may have occasional travel
Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

At least a bachelor’s degree in Bio-Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or comparable field
At least 1-3 years of experience with hand-tools, machining, or construction
Hands on hardware design experience; including design requirements, detailed design & review, component selection & evaluation, procurement, design validation, and release

Training, Skills, Knowledge:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to write professional technical reports and procedures
Must be task focused and have a results-oriented attitude and approach to the job responsibilities

Compensation and Benefits

Total Compensation target is $80,000 - $105,000 annually; actual pay will vary based on experience. Benefits include 401K with company match, Flexible Vacation Policy, Health Benefits, Investment in Professional and Personal Development, and much more.
